Managing Director Named International Green Hero
Karl Hick, the managing director of Larkfleet Group, has qualified as an 'international green hero' following an industry award win by the company.
In March this year, Larkfleet Group entered the prestigious Green Apple Awards, run by the Green Organisation, an independent environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
The company won a silver accolade in the 'built environment and architectural heritage' category with an entry detailing the Sustainability Demonstration House located next to its head offices in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
The Sustainability Demonstration House showcases energy-saving technologies and building methods that allow homes to meet and exceed energy efficiency regulations without excessive cost.
As part of the company's success in the Green Apple Awards, Karl Hick has now qualified as an international green hero and will share his environmental expertise with like-minded people all over the world.
Karl will attend a prestigious ceremony at the House of Commons in November to be presented with a National Green Plaque to celebrate the company's recognition as one of the leaders in making a positive contribution to our built environment.
Karl Hick commented: "It is an honour to be named as an international green hero. The award win demonstrates Larkfleet Group's commitment to building energy efficient homes and this recognition serves as a reward for the company's continuing hard work in this area."
Larkfleet Group provides high quality, environmentally friendly, affordable homes, something that is continually recognised at a national level with its numerous recent award wins.
At the recent Housing Excellence Awards, where companies are commended for making social housing work well, Larkfleet Group came top in the 'Affordable Housebuilder of the Year' category.
Another recent win celebrated by the company was in the East Midlands Business in the Community Carbon Positive Awards. The award, sponsored by the East Midlands Development Agency, was open to businesses and organisations in the East Midlands whose low carbon projects inspire others to take action.
Larkfleet Group came top in the 'Carbon Positive Cutting Edge (for less than 250 employees)' category, demonstrating its success in developing and building to the highest environmental standards.
